Chapter 2

Lailah DK His eyes stared deep into mine, he was short of words. That I can tell from the way he erupted into the loudest laughter I have heard today. "What's wrong with you?" His father asked the exact question that lingered in my mind. Why was he laughing, I'm sure there's no drawing on my face to make him laugh as loud as this. "A girl?, A girl as my bodyguard?" He paused and began to cough from the laughter which had begun to choke him. "DK is not just any type of girl, don't underestimate her Haider," his father said and he chuckled before staring at me and saying "Please DK, don't waste your time here, I'm a man and I need no woman's protection" he got up on his feet. I looked over to his father and he nodded for me to follow him, so I forced a smile on my lips and got up along with him. "Prince Haider I've been assigned to protect you and I never fail at my Assignment" I spoke for the first time, my voice was filled with great certainty and bravery. "Then fail at this one, you are a woman and women are weak" his words shot at my heart like an arrow. I immediately formed a fist. "Haider whether you like it or not, DK will be your bodyguard. I'm not losing another one of my sons" his father said, he looked deep into his father's eyes and nodded before looking down calmly. He seemed touched by his father's words. "Okay You highness, DK come with me. I'm late for my meeting" He turned to me and said and I smiled with a nod. "And dad, how about the other bodyguard?" He asked. "He has been taken care of," his dad said and he nodded. "DK remember your promise," his father said and I was quick to nod with my hand on my chest. We both went outside his father's chamber and walked towards his car where I immediately opened the backseat of his car for him. "You don't have to do that DK," he said. "It's part of my job," I said and he huffed and nodded. He entered his vehicle and sat down while I took the front sit along with the driver. We were off to his so-called meeting. while in the car, I kept taking glimpses of him. He was one of the most peaceful-looking souls I had ever seen, he looked nothing like the men back in the military. They looked tough and rude, but this one right here looked extremely peaceful. We halted in front of a glass tall building and I immediately came down from the vehicle and rushed to his side to open the door. He looked at me with an expression I didn't pretty much understand, what was wrong with him. "Stay here, don't follow me," he said in such a rude mannerism. Wow, for a person with a calm face he sure is rude. "I've been assigned to protect you," I said. "Are you God?" He asked and I immediately nodded in the negative. "So shut the fuck up," he said. "Sir..." He raised his hand in the air and I paused in my speech. "I don't want to hear any complaint from you, sit down in the car like a good girl" he placed his hand on my shoulder and said. I placed my hand on his and pushed it away and opened the car and sat in it. "What an arrogant man!" I said and the driver chuckled. "Is that how he behaves?" I asked the driver and he nodded. "Well he is damn rude," I said and he chuckled. "Don't mind him, that's just his nature. Ever since he traveled overseas he changed. He has been rude, annoying, and arrogant" The driver said and I shook my head pitifully. "By the way I'm Jabar, what's your name?" He asked. "DK, my name is Dk, "I said and he looked uncertain for a while before he nodded. "Excuse me I want to make a call" I stepped down from the car and placed a call to the king who picked on the second Ring. "Good day, your majesty" I greeted. "Good day DK, how are you, and how's my son?" The king was quick to ask. From how he is always at a pace to safeguard his son, I'm sure he loves him beyond words can explain. "I am okay sir, but I have no idea if your son is okay because he has refused I follow him into the office," I said. "WHAT! That stupid son of mine, when will he learn that his life is in danger? At 28 and he is still acting like a kid" his father yelled, I got immediately alarmed when he mentioned the word 'danger' so his life is being threatened and yet he is still stubborn. "DK goes into that damn office, you are only to receive orders from me and no one else" his voice was still loud. ''Calm down your highness, please" I said as calmly as possible. "I'm sorry DK, I'm just scared. My son is stubborn, he is not aware of how endangered he is. Please DK I selected you for a reason, and I am sure you'll not fail me. Promise me DK" he said, I felt something strange in my heart, yeah a feeling, a feeling of pity. Yeah, I felt pity for him, whoever knew I could feel. My heart has been scarce of feeling for years but today here I am pitying this old man. Wow. "I promise you, your highness, I Lailah DK will protect your son no matter what," I said and from the way he thanked me, I knew he was smiling. "You have a beautiful name my dear, stay blessed," he said and I smiled. "Thanks, bye," I said before disconnecting the call. I turned to the car and knocked on it lightly, the window was brought down by Jabar. "Jabar I'll be right back, wait for me," I said to him and he nodded with a smile. I turned around again and began heading towards the big glass tall building. I pushed the door open and I was welcomed by the smell of lavender. "Good day madam, how can I help you?" The receptionist lady asked and I turned my head towards her direction with a face scarce of a smile. She seemed intimidated. "Where is the meeting being held?" I asked in a very unfriendly tone. "Why do you want to know and who are you?" She asked. "I'm the Prince's bodyguard, now tell me where the meeting is being held" I demanded and she scowled her face. "I was not informed to allow you in," She said rudely. Who could blame her, I was rude at first. "Are you stupid? Don't worry, I'll find it myself" I said, I began heading towards a direction that had a big glass door. I could tell it was the meeting room because I could see a do not disturb sign on it. She kept on yelling at me not to go in but I paid deaf ears to her. I pushed the door open slowly and every eye in the room was directed at me. "Sir I tried to stop her wallahi (I swear by God)" the receptionist said. "You may go Hamida," he said and she turned around and walked away, not without sending me a very deadly glare though. I walked majestically towards where he sat, I walked like I had been trained to, I walked like the girls in the action movies would, yes I was trained to walk like that for four years. Everyone's eyes were on me, I felt like shooting them all on the forehead. "Sir" I placed my hand behind my back and stood behind him. "What the fuck are you doing here!?" He said a little bit louder. "I am following the orders from the king," I said and he huffed. "The meeting is adjourned, we will continue from where we had stopped next week. Mr. Jayden, I'm pleased with your presentation. You may begin the Construction on Monday" He said in a very professional manner to the audience. Everyone in the room got up, except him and a young man who was smiling stupidly at me. Oh, how I wish I could shoot him on the forehead ten times. "Wow, Haider. You didn't inform me that Dad got you a new bodyguard. And a girl for that matter, wow" the fool said while walking towards the prince and taking a sit. "Shut up Jabir, you are a fool," Haider said and the man who I just found his name to be Jabir hissed and turned his face in my direction. "Hey, I'm Jabir. Haider cousin and best friend" he extended his hand forward for a handshake. I looked at him with the most boring Expression ever and said "I'm DK" I said. "DK?, What's the full meaning?" He asked. While dropping down his previously extended hand slowly. "It's none of your business," I said and returned my attention to the prince. "You better not try this again," Haider said angrily and stood up. I looked at Jabir and he had a shocked expression on, I know I was too rude but who cares? I adjusted my jacket properly and still followed behind Haider. I never fail at my Assignment.
