Alice was afraid that if she moved too much, he might discover her growing belly. So, she ceased her struggles and allowed him to kiss her. As she stopped resisting, Lucas pulled her closer, but Alice maintained some distance between them. She was determined not to let her body touch his, as that would reveal her rounding belly.
