Being The Villain.
“What conversation did you have with Amara, mother?” Tobias asked, walking around his kitchen with a hot mug of coffee in his hand.
It was currently quarter past midnight, and instead of sleeping, or working as he should, Tobias found himself thinking about Amara’s words. They felt like a sharp threat that should be taken seriously and before Tobias knew it, he was indeed calling his mother, wanting to find out what they had discussed.
Giselle, who had only just been woken up from her sleep, took sometime to respond.
“What? T-toby, do you know what time it is? Why would you be calling at such a ungodly hour all talk about that…thing?”
“Mother,” Tobias’s tone was sort of a warning. “I asked a question. What did you discuss with Amara?”
“Just…” Giselle hesitated. For a second, she wasn’t sure how to tell Tobias that she had called and demanded an explanation, which only escalated into a bitter exchange of words and she sure as hell wasn’t going to tell him that.
