Chapter 228
Amara left early the next morning, going to the exact location she and Elijah had last met.
He was already waiting for her in the private room, standing by the windows and seemingly looking deep in thought.
When the door opened and she stepped in, he pulled his attention away from the boring scene outside and fixed it on her.
For a few seconds, they were both silent. Amara wasn’t quite sure what to say, while Elijah, like he had been given fresh air, appreciated Amara’s presence.
“You wanted to talk,” Amara was the first to break the silence.
“Yes, I did.” He confirmed, his voice was hoarse and low, but the words still sounded firm.
“Then go ahead,”
“Alright,” Elijah nodded his head and ran his hand through his hair. “I just…I just wanted to know, is there…was there ever any chance for us? A future for us, did you ever see one?” He asked.
He needed to know, to get the closure he deserves to be able to forget these feelings and move on.
