The message Elijah had been expecting came around 3 in the afternoon. It was simple, a few words sent, a time and place, and nothing else. Elijah had expected as much, and yet, he couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed. But the fact that he understood where Amara was coming from, the hurt and betrayal she must have felt after finding out that he hid something so serious from her, made it a little easier for him to deal with.
