Her New Tactics To Gain Attention.
It was safe to say Amara's request had stunned Helios into silence, because for the first few minutes, he remained quiet and unmoving, staring at her as if waiting for the punchline.
However, Amara didn't utter another word, just continued staring at him with a look that clearly said she was not kidding.
This had Helios blinking a few times, just to make sure he had heard correctly.
Had Amara's serious asked him to punch the one person she always treated like gold?
The one person she showered with attention to the point of making him feel suffocated and discomforted?
The very same attention that he didn't get in his family as the illegitimate child and envied and at some point wished to receive?
Was he mistaken?
Helios looked at Amara, wondering what she had eaten and drunk that made her ask him of all people to punch the very man who he had always assumed was a god to her.
"You want me to punch," He pointed at Tobias. "Him?"
Amara nodded her head and the look on her face didn't change, still dead serious and determined. "Yes. Can you do it?"
Helios looked back at Tobias, whose brows were furrowed then back at Amara before smiling. “Well, if he’s upset you, I don’t see any reason why I shouldn’t-“
“Are you two done?” Tobias cut him off, looking irritated.
Helios merely flashed him a smile, whereas Amara looked irritated by his manners which needed obvious fixing.
After sending Helios a not-so-friendly look, Tobias turned his attention back to his ex wife. “Is this your new tactics to gain men attention? Asking them to punch someone?”
“Not at all.” Amara clarified. “Actually, listening to you speak, irritated me to the point of wanting to take a swing at you, and since I’m too much of a lady, I called the next best thing.”
Tobias was stunned by Amara’s reply, but his face did not reflect the surprise he felt.
“So to answer your question, No, I want trying to get any man’s attention,” Amara smiled. “I was simply trying to get rid of you, Understood?”
At this point, Tobias was clearly pissed. Amara could see the irritation swimming in his dark orbs and that was enough to compensate for him ruining her night.
Smirking, she turned around and began heading back into Giovanni, obviously to get Melanie and leave. As Tobias saw her walking away, he tried to go after her, but Helios quickly stepped in front of him and blocked his path.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing?” Tobias’s voice was calm, but the storm in his eyes portrayed a different story.
“Let her go, Tobias, don’t cause a scene.” Helios advised
“Step aside.” Tobias demanded.
Helios did not move, instead, he stood his ground and said. “Go back home, Tobias, the night is ending and you’ve had enough fun.”
“You,” Tobias sneered. “You should know your place. Don’t overstep.”
“Tobias,”
“Helios.” Tobias said in warning, daring the man before him to say another word. “You have ten seconds to stop sticking your nose into my business, or else-“
“Or else what?” Helios’s challenge caught Tobias off guard, not because it was the first time Helios had stood up to him, but the first time Helios had stood up to him, over a lady!
And then it clicked.
“She caught you?” Tobias laughed. “Of all the people in the world, she caught you.” Soon, the smile on his face faded and Tobias looked far from pleased. “You’ve got balls Edgar, having feelings for my wife-“
“She’s not your wife. You both are divorce.” Helios reminded, his calm exterior staying in place no matter how intimidating Tobias seemed at the moment. “I have the right to have feelings for her if I want to and you have no say in it.”
Tobias didn’t like Helios’s words at all.
Forgetting the deal made between their families, he grabbed the collar of Helios’s shirt and yanked him forward. “Go even five feet near her and I swear to god-“
“You’ll do what? Have me killed? Ruin my family?”
Tobias’s glare darkened.
“Let’s make one thing clear, I don’t give a flying fuck about your feelings Tobias. You had your chance with Amara and you messed it up,” Smiling, Helios said. “But, I have to thank you, because now I’ve got a chance with Amara.”
The way Tobias's fist tightened on Helios’s collar had him chuckling.
“Let me go.” Helios said, his words more like a command than a request.
Tobias glared at Helios a second longer before he chuckled and released his collar, stepping back in the process.
“Guess like years of marriage has softened you-“ Helios was in the middle of taunting him when Tobias landed a punch on his left cheek.
The force sent Helios staggering and his hand flew to his cheek, holding the spot.
“I’ve always despised you.” Tobias spat. “From the moment grandfather introduced me to you, I knew you’d turn out to be a snake and look here, you’ve proven me right.” He added. "You-“
He didn’t get the chance to finish, because the moment his attention was off Helios, he was punched.
“Fuck.” He cursed and swiped off the blood from his mouth.
“You’re not the only one who can throw a punch, Larsen, I-“ Helios couldn’t complete his sentence as Tobias charged at him and tackled him.
They both went down, Tobias onto of Helios, one of his hands on Helios’s throat while the other threw punches at his face.
Helios manager to block most of it, but when Tobias’s fist got past his defenses, he didn’t hesitate to return the favor.
He grabbed Tobias by his hair and brought his knee up, striking the side of his stomach.
Tobias winced, but his hands didn’t loosen their grip on Helios. In fact, Helios’s attack seemed to have fueled him even more.
His punches grew more aggressive and in one second, he had landed three hits on Helios’s face. Only did he get up and move away when he felt like he had given the Helios the beating he deserved.
Helios sat up and coughed, spitting out a broken tooth, while Tobias whipped his hand on the leg of his trouser, cleaning it from any dirt and blood.
“Stay the hell away from Amara if you know what’s best for you and your family,” Tobias warned one last time before he began heading to the car park, having no intention of returning to the club after everything that had gone done.
As he walked towards where his car was parked, he couldn’t help but feel frustrated at he thought of Helios’s words.
God, why the fuck did Amara attract so files?
Tobias’s teeth clenched and his fist balled up, not liking the way the jealousy and rage in him burned. And the sound of his phone ringing did not help.
With a heavy sigh, he took his phone out and answered it.
“Hello?”
“Brother!” It was Fiona and the urgency in her voice had worry sipping into Tobias, nearly making him forget about what had just happened.
“Fiona, is something the matter? Why do you sound so distressed?” He asked.
“It’s Celeste, brother, she’s currently in the hospital’s ER.” Fiona sobbed. “She tried to take her own life, brother!”
