The Hell She Desperately Tried To Run From.
Tobias stared at his phone with a frown.
It was naturally weird for Amara to call him, but for her to call and suddenly end the call, that seemed more like a sick joke to him.
Clicking on her number again, he pressed the phone to his ear, but shortly after, the automated voice informed him that the line had been switched off.
“Hm?” His frown deepened as he stared at the phone.
Perhaps her battery had died, that would explain why she suddenly ended the call and her phone was now switched off.
Tobias found reason in that idea, but even so, he couldn’t help the small part of him that wondered if this had been her way of seeking him out and calling him for help.
It sounded unlikely, but wasn’t it Amara?
“Mr. Larsen,” Daniel, knocking gently on the door, stepped in. “You have a call.”
Tobias perked up at this, assuming that it was Amara trying to reach him via his assistant’s phone.
But then again, would that really be possible.
“I’ll take the call.” He said. “Who’s it from?”
