“Listen,” Amara started, but was interrupted by a long yawn, before he said.
“If you need my protection service, I’ll have you know you can’t fire me and then call me back. I’m not some sort of dog you can just command and-“
“Jake,” Amara cut him off, her tone calm and gentle despite the storm of emotions running amuck inside her. “Please, hear me out.” She requested.
The man on the other side fell silent, not answering, but also not hanging up, this served as a greenlight for Amara to carry on.
“You’re right, I do need your protection service. I didn’t need it in the past and that was why I fired you, but now,” Her eyes gravitated toward the dustbin where those cursed photos lay and a frown became evident on her face. “I do.”

“What changed?” Jake asked, his voice was a bit more alert now, and Amara could hear the sounds of the bed creaking and footsteps.
