He Craved It.
Amara, even though she knew she had a ton of work to complete, found herself seating across Elijah at a dinner table, shortly after Lorenzo had left.
It was Elijah's Idea, one he had come up with in a matter of minutes. He said he wanted to go out to eat with her, and when she refused, saying she had a lot to do, he promised her a quick trip and a speedy return.
How could she resist his charming smile and pleading eyes?
“So, how’s the company holding up?” Elijah asked, his hands intertwined beneath his chin as he stared at her. “Anyone giving you a hard time?”
Amara shook her head, truthfully. No one was giving her a hard time, even those investors and executives who she thought would have tried doing so, haven’t given her any trouble.
“Things have been going well so far, and everyone is pretty friendly.” She answered.
“Really?” Elijah smiled. “That’s good. And if they aren’t, let me know, alright?”
