An hour later, at Jadeford Hospital, Lily rushed Hazel to the emergency room, where the doctor conducted a general examination.
"There's nothing serious. She might catch a cold and run a fever as she recovers, but a little medicine will take care of it."
On the way to the hospital, the driver turned the heater up full blast. Hazel started to feel a little better, sneezing and sniffling one after another. Her pale and ashen face began to show a hint of color.
Lily thanked the doctor, got some medicine for Hazel, and left the hospital with her. At the hospital entrance, she hailed another taxi.
"To Bayview Gardens," she instructed.
Upon hearing what Lily said, Hazel immediately grabbed her. "Bayview Gardens? Aren't we going back to Xavier's place?"
The driver stopped the car. "Where exactly are we going?"
"To Bayview Gardens," Lily said without hesitation, then turned to Hazel. "I've moved out of his place."
