Some of the firefighters present could recognize Shannon, and some could faintly recall hearing the Special Security Agency's reputation. They weren't sure what to make of the situation, but seeing Layne on the verge of death and with concern for their captain, who might've been bitten, they quickly loaded everyone into the vehicle.
