****** Frowning, Caleb pushed away from the hug. "What happened?" He asked, looking around the room. Conri pulled him back and wrapped his arms around him once again, kissing his hair softly. "Don't pull away from me," He said, pressing him tighter and chuckled when Caleb grunted. Conri pulled back this time, smiling brightly at his mate. "Are you hungry?... I made you lunch, let us go down to eat and we can talk after." He said, getting out of bed but Caleb held him back. "No, Please, talk to me," He said pleadingly. Conri hesitated, but after an internal debate decided to comply. "Why did you do it?" He asked gently. Caleb looked confused for a moment but shook his head, answering simply: "I love you... You're my Alpha." Conri frowned, "I know, but doing this would kill you," He said softly. Caleb averted his gaze, knowing the truth. "Would you rather I let her spell you instead? She wants you dead, Conri. I will not allow that!" He insisted, pushing against Conri's chest. "She wants
