The motorcycle narrowly passed by her before it sped away. The strong wind it generated brushed against Margot's face, causing her to feel a slight stinging sensation.
"Are you okay?" A familiar voice reached her ears.
Margot raised her gaze and saw Joseph looking at her with concern.
Margot steadied herself. "I'm fine. That person—"
Joseph interrupted, "That person was clearly after you. Why were you just standing there without heading home?"
Margot managed a wry smile. "My car got wrecked, so I sent it for repairs. I originally wanted to take a taxi, but it's not easy to find one around here …"
Joseph frowned. "I'll take you home."
Margot wanted to refuse, but thinking back to the harrowing experience, she decided to keep her mouth shut. She didn't know what might have happened if she hadn't managed to dodge in time.
