Chapter 19

Zachary noticed the ointment at Natalie's side and exclaimed, "Did you consult Mr. Bradley?" Dominic and Jasper shared a friendship that spanned generations. In the past, when Jasper dislocated his shoulder, he healed even better than before after Dominic treated him. However, Jasper rarely bothered Dominic, let alone taking someone to him for treatment. Natalie, unaware of their history, nodded at Zachary. He shot a bewildered glance at Jasper, almost dropping his cutleries. Jasper, their icy captain, had voluntarily taken a woman to consult a doctor. It was Dominic's place, no less, willingly putting himself in debt. Zachary remembered when they had a collective mission, a female soldier complained of a sore foot. Jasper had told her to "tough it out", and if she couldn't, to "take off her uniform and leave" because the team didn't support princesses. It was a stark display of his cold and ruthless nature. While Zachary was still marveling, the waiter arrived with the dishes.
