Chapter 27

Aaron stared at him in disbelief. "You're not serious, are you? If this is how you're gonna play it, don't ever ask me for help again. I've already been made the villain and the scapegoat—I'm not signing up for more." Leon responded coldly, "Pathetic." Aaron was speechless. If Leon wasn't his friend, he would throw him straight out the window. "Take your men and leave," Leon ordered. His gaze darkened at the thought of Victoria in the next room. She was most likely trembling in fear. "No one comes upstairs without my permission." "Got it. I won't get in your way." Aaron's voice was dripping with sarcasm, but before walking out, he added, "Still, maybe go easy on her. She looked really scared." Leon shot him a warning glance. "Fine, I get it. I'll shut up and leave," Aaron muttered. Without another word, he walked out of the conference room with his bodyguards and Harrison. Only after the elevator doors closed did Leon finally make his way to the room where Victoria was locked.
