CHAPTER 66: Family's conflict
Elodia finally let go of the hug, wiping her tears and trying to gain back her composure.
She was heavily embarrassed by what just transgressed.
"So, let's get back to dinner shall we?" Mother Theresa spoke, diving into her meal.
The day moved faster than she would have hoped as it was already nighttime.
As the night wore off, Mother Theresa tried to make small talk with Elodia during the dinner.
Everything seemed perfect except for Elder Claudia's piercing gaze never leaving Elodia, as if searching for a weakness to exploit, making her skin crawl.
The sounds of forks and knives cluttered away in the dining room as they all ate.
Mother Theresa stopped eating immediately making everyone turn towards her.
She was looking at the door, her eyes hard. Everyone followed her direction of gaze and found a girl standing by the door.
Her black dress contracted with the darkness of the night.
Elodia sat in shock, looking at this girl who hated her for no apparent reason.
