As the neural reconditioning device hummed to life, Elodia felt a searing pain coursing through her mind as if gripping her mind with chains. Her very mind was attacked and she tried to scream, but it seemed like her voice was muffled by some unseen force. She could only lay unmoving on the bed with pain coursing through her whole body and brain. Viktor's apologetic gaze was the last thing she saw before her vision blurred and her thoughts began to unravel. She wanted to scream at him and curse him for not helping her, for promising about her escape and now her memory was being wiped. What would be the meaning of escaping if she couldn't even remember who she was? She wanted to break the chains off her and slice his neck with her claws for giving her so much hope only to destroy and crush that hope within his fist. The machine beeped and whirred, its red and purple wires pulsating with an otherworldly energy. She could feel the machine holding all of her memories like it was holding
