Just as she was about to speak, Lillian's phone suddenly rang, and all of Luke's words got stuck in her throat.
Lillian let go of his hand and answered the call.
Esteban's clear voice came through the receiver. "Lillian, I've arrived at Druonia. Where are you? I think I'm lost..."
Luke's expression stiffened. Lillian glanced at him and inwardly sighed. It seemed like nothing was going right today.
Esteban was still anxiously speaking, "My dad sent me here to Druonia for graduate school, and now I'm an international student. You can't just leave me hanging."
His words were intense. Over the past few months, he had learned a lot about nationalism, and he habitually blew even small issues out of proportion, believing that Lillian would never abandon him at the airport.
