Sebastian had already been prepared for Sabrina to turn him down. He hadn't expected her to respond in this manner.
After a slight daze, happiness flashed in his eyes. "Of course! Let's go right now."
When they arrived at the Lakeworth residence, Sabrina looked at the little girl sitting before the window and hugging a teddy bear. A trace of pity flashed in her eyes.
She'd met many children in the mission world. Ansel had never had a shortage of love, so he'd always looked cheery and spirited. His eyes were bright with happiness.
The orphans at the orphanage she donated to had lost their parents, but the employees there had given them more than enough love. There were also kind people who would play with them every week. They, too, had no shortage of love.
None of the children were like the little girl she now saw—her eyes were dull, and she stood nervously in a corner with her arms wrapped around her teddy bear.
