Chapter 27
I woke up to Felix calling my name.
My mind struggled to fall right back into oblivion. My head was pounding.
"Are you feeling better now, Reegan?" Felix asked.
I stared at him groggily for a moment. Instinctively, I asked, "Are you okay? Are you hurt?"
He couldn't move his legs. The thought made me frantic with worry as I hurriedly gave him a once-over.
His suit was nowhere to be seen, and his shirt was torn and messy, with a few buttons missing. His watch was gone. His usually impeccable hair was now disheveled.
"I'm fine. I'm not hurt," he told me. "Don't worry. I have a tracker on me. Someone will come and rescue us in less than an hour. Don't be afraid. I'm right here."
Even now, he was still calm and collected, which eased some of my anxiety.
I managed to push myself into a sitting position and observed our surroundings.
We were in an abandoned warehouse. It was empty and rather rundown, with only a few rusty metal parts and wooden debris on the ground.
