Chapter 22
However, that night, Felix hadn't returned home even by midnight.
I sent him a text to ask when he was coming home.
He called me back quickly and told me that there was a problem he needed to deal with at the office, so he was not coming home that night.
Pushing down my disappointment, I reminded him to take care of himself and not to overwork.
After ending the call, I turned and stared at the two ceramic dolls that I had just brought back.
For the past few months, Felix had mostly worked from home. Even on the rare occasions he went to the office, he would make it back by 8 o'clock at night.
I had already grown used to having him by my side. Now, with him suddenly staying at the office overnight, I felt a little out of sorts.
I tossed and turned on the large, empty bed, unable to sleep. In the end, I gave up and went to the studio. I decided to pass the time by painting.
After sitting quietly in front of the empty canvas for a moment, I decided on my subject and began painting
