Chapter 81
I could not control the unceasing stream of tears as I sat in the car. I forced myself to hold my emotions in as I stepped out of the car. With Dixon Gregg supporting me by my arm, I hobbled into the Shaw Family Home.
In the middle of the hall was a crystal coffin. Joseph Connor was lying inside peacefully with Summer Jacobs standing beside him.
Unexpectedly, Summer was not in tears.
As she stood beside the coffin, she was just a little red-eyed. When she saw me, she simply nodded and softly said, "Thank you."
I could tell that inside her heart she was an emotional wreck. An utterly painful and unbearable sight for me to see.
