The weather was gentle in the early springtime in France. When I got out of the helicopter, I felt warm and had to remove the coat I wore. Wallace followed behind me and got down. Suddenly, he grabbed my shoulder and pointed at the castle. “Mother is waiting for you inside,” he mentioned. I frowned. “Why is she not in the hospital?” Wallace grinned at me. “Mother has a private doctor,” he explained. I briefly believed in his words. Wallace looked at the Schick family men that guarded the castle and frowned. “Carol, what are your guards here for?” he asked straightforwardly. I simply made an excuse, “Some time ago, I got seriously injured. Now, I’m extra cautious whenever I’m outside. I’m not against you.” I did not wait for Wallace to say anything and simply walked ahead of him. The huge castle was empty. Puzzled, I asked, “Are there no maids in the castle?” Wallace walked beside me and started to chat with me. “There are not many maids in the castle,” he explained, “Only
