John's burial was the next day.
Olivia had been up almost all night because of what happened last night. Her eyes were red and swollen.
Mrs. Simmons thought she was crying because of John, so she did not ask any more questions. She only cooked an egg and gently applied it to her eyes.
"Miss, don't be sad. It will be troublesome if you hurt yourself from crying too hard."
Olivia did not want Mrs. Simmons to worry, so she forced a smile without explaining. "Yeah, I know. I'm fine."
"Miss, once Sir is buried, let's leave Ocean City."
Hearing this, she froze for a moment. "Why?"
"Oh, Miss. It doesn't bother me. I'm old. Anything will do, but I don't want to see you and the two children get involved in these disputes again. I'm scared."
Mrs. Simmons touched her face, tears in her eyes. "I'm scared... scared of having to see you die so young, Miss."
Olivia frowned with mixed feelings.
She knew what Mrs. Simmons was worried about, but how could she leave?
