Chapter 40: "The Test of Time"
The night was warm, the air was heavy with the smell of summer, the sky was a dark blue, and the first stars were visible in the night sky. Taylor and Alex were having a meal on the patio of a local bistro that they both loved and that was situated in a rather unnoticed area of the town. Well, it was Alex who suggested that they should come here tonight to get away from the loud and messy activity that seemed to fill their days lately.
The candle was lighting the room, and Alex could see Taylor’s face clearly as he looked at her with a certain tenderness on his face that was combined with worry. Taylor sensed his stare, and she only looked at the glass of red wine in front of her, spinning it as she searched for the words to speak.
