Chapter 24: "The Unspoken Truth"
After the day spent with Emma, Taylor and Alex resumed their daily schedule and simple, yet meaningful, moments of contemplation. The apartment felt somewhat less cheerful without Emma in it, but life went on. Taylor was busy with her work day in and out, drawing new designs for the next collection, while Alex was occupied with his tech startup.
There are no specific days of the week that can be regarded as normal in the life of a modern person, so it was a Wednesday evening when Taylor got a call. She was in her studio with the windows slightly ajar and the dim light of evening creeping in through the glass and falling on the papers. There was a sound of a vibrating phone on the desk, and she shifted her attention to the screen to find a familiar name on it.
”Hello, sweetheart,” the woman greeted her as Taylor put down her pencil to attend the call.
