Chapter 103: Whispers in the Dark
It was already pitch dark, and the park was well illuminated by the lights of the distant street lamps. Taylor and Alex stayed put in the quiet area where they were left, and even though the two had spoken about it, it still remained an issue. But there was relief too; it was like a weight had been lifted off, and people could move on with their lives in acceptance.
Taylor put her back down on the bench and looked up at the sky as if they were to provide her with the words she was yet to say. Sitting beside her, Alex was quiet, his fingers gently wrapped around her knee as he anchored them in the here and now.
“I did not think I would ever share it with anyone about Lila,” Alex said, getting choked up. “But with you, it felt right, it felt necessary. ”
Taylor looked at him and felt warmth in her chest, which filled her with love. “I’m glad you did,” he said softly, “We cannot build something real if there are parts of ourselves denied. I want to know all of you, Alex – the light
