Her body faded in a blink.
For a moment I could n't breathe. I lie there, panting, gaping at the window. I awaited, accepting she'd cleaved to the external stave, or the walls like I'd discerned her do. She'd come ago through any moment, once she'd recaptured her energy.

I do not see how long I lie on the bottom, heaving for breather and bleeding, staying to know Khalifa reappear. torture sunk its claws into me as I crawled across the bottom, shards of glass and broken up fractions of stuff digging into my meat.
