Chapter 7 Humiliate Her
Lindsey Juhl was clear that the man could not be interested in her so quickly as he had just said touching her was repulsive. He was only doing so to humiliate her.
What could she do though? The Juhls, who had raised her for nearly 20 years, had given her everything, so she could not bear to be the reason for their destruction.
Zayn Guggenheim seemed to be a little impatient. Lindsey’s knuckles were already white from clenching her fists so hard. She bit her lip as her hands scrambled to unbutton her shirt.
"That's enough!"
Zayn grumbled as he yanked her half-removed shirt back up and yelled, "You really are cheap! Did you really think I’ll be interested in you? Don't disgust me!"
After he said that, he went upstairs without looking back.
Behind him, Lindsey silently clutched her clothes and suppressed her cries.
In the bedroom, Zayn stood by the window smoking one cigarette after another, seemingly trying to suppress the restlessness in his heart at this time.
Many women wanted to climb into his bed and they were all dressed sexier than the previous, but in the end, they were all thrown out by him.
He thought that it must be his abstinence for so long that made him harbor those thoughts for her.
Zayn comforted himself and took a deep breath.
From the corner of his eyes, he glanced at a photo frame by the table and walked over to it.
The picture in the frame was a photo of him and Jenny Lenig when they were in college. Looking at the two people in the photo, Zayn's eyes softened a little.
Capital Airport.
A woman with long curly brown hair who was wearing large sunglasses and a long high-fashion dress strode out of the airport with her suitcase.
There were many passersby at the arrival hall. Jenny Lenig raised her hand to take off her sunglasses and looked at the big words in front of her that read - "Capital Airport". A smile slowly appeared on her face.
"Zayn, I'm back! Did you...miss me?"
......
Lindsey was out of it all day.
When she was doing a data report, she consecutively got a few key data wrong, which angered her senior, Lydia. She was chided by Lydia as soon as the meeting was adjourned.
"Lindsey Juhl, what's wrong with you today? How could you get the data wrong for such a simple report? As a consultant, do you know that a single inaccurate figure can cause a multitude of problems for the client's project?"
Lindsey looked guilty and said, "I'm sorry, Lydia. I'm just feeling unwell, so..."
"Okay, enough. There’s no need to explain. I’m telling you, the Juhls aren’t what they used to be, so if you still want to be in this industry, you should put away your rich princess attitude!"
"I know, I'll change."
In the end, Lindsey gave up the chance to argue for herself. Lydia nagged her a little more before she waved her hand and let her leave.
After finally finishing her day's work, Lindsey was about to go back to rest when she received a call from home once again.
Looking at that familiar number and thinking of Zayn humiliating her and his resolute attitude towards her yesterday, Lindsey bit her lip and knew that she could no longer hide it.
"Mom, you’re not resting yet at this hour?"
"Rest? Lindsey Juhl, have you forgotten what the most important thing is now?"
Stephanie's voice was as harsh as usual and there was no trace of motherly warmth as she added, "Also, did you hide something from me?"
Lindsey was stunned and asked, "Mom, what can I possibly hide from you?"
"Tell me honestly, you've been married for three years, but you haven't even consummated your marriage yet, right?"
