Chapter 3 Are You Married?
Gerald turned back. He strode over to the bedside, casting a domineering gaze down at Rosalynn.
She felt threatened by him.
"Rosalynn, remember I'm the most powerful man in Oberton. Don't ever mess with me, or you'll suffer."
In the Medical University of Oberton.
Nathan sent a message to Rosalynn. [Babe, are you at the university?]
Rosalynn glanced at her phone and replied. [Yes.]
Then she sent a cute emoji over for fear that Nathan would find her reply too indifferent.
Nathan sent over a smirky face. [I have a surprise for you.]
Rosalynn was wondering what kind of surprise it would be, only to see two men in suits walk up to the podium.
It turned out that Gerald Higgins, CEO of the Higgins Group, and Nathan Lambert, CEO of the Lambert Group, were invited to a lecture at the university today.
Rosalynn subconsciously looked towards Gerald who was seated in front with a reserved expression.
After she provoked him that night, he slammed the door and left.
Gerald sensed Rosalynn's intense gaze, and he immediately found out where she was sitting.
Sensing Gerald's attention on her, Rosalynn raised a seductive smile and placed her index and middle fingers on her lips. Then she blew him a kiss.
Gerald noticed her flirty moves.
He averted his eyes indifferently as if he didn't know her at all. He turned to read the university profile on his desk.
Gerald's indifference pissed Rosalynn off. She feigned a smile and cursed to herself, "What a jerk!"
The principal of the university introduced Gerald and Nathan to the students. Nathan was the first to deliver a speech.
He stood on the podium with a microphone in his hand, his eyes scanning the classroom as if he were looking for something.
Rosalynn locked eyes with Nathan, and she regained her composure hastily. She didn't want to plant seeds of doubt in Nathan's mind.
Nathan saw Rosalynn and a bright smile appeared on his face. He straightened his back and began to recite his speech.
"Ladies and gentlemen, I'm Nathan, CEO of the Lambert Group. I'm delighted to be here today..."
The Higgins Group had a far reach in so many industries with a particular focus on the pharmaceutical industry.
Boasting pharmaceutical companies and private hospitals all over the world, the corporation dominated the pharmaceutical industry with its cutting-edge technology and outstanding talent.
In contrast, the Lambert Group used to be insignificant. However, after the Lambert and the Higgins families were connected by marriage, the company surged in prosperity relying on the resources of the Higgins Group. Now it owned numerous medical equipment companies.
Rosalynn listened to Nathan's voice, and a bloody scene flashed through her mind.
A middle-aged gentleman was being held down by five burly men, his glasses broken and his face covered in blood.
Another middle-aged man walked over with a glass trophy. Then he smashed it into the gentleman's head, again and again.
Blood splashed all over the place…
Dad…
Rosalynn gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. She tried to push those dreadful images out of her mind.
How could a black-hearted family like the Lambert family venture into the field of medicine? Rosalynn thought to herself.
"One day, I'll destroy the Lambert family and make them feel the heart-wrenching pain that I felt!"
"I've finished my speech. Thank you all!"
Nathan stepped down from the podium.
As he took his seat, he looked at Rosalynn.
Rosalynn knew Nathan was watching her, so she clapped her hands with a feigned smile on her face.
Then it was Gerald's turn to deliver the speech.
Confidently, he strode to the podium, adjusting the microphone before commencing his speech with poise.
"A masterful surgeon has the eyes of an eagle, the heart of a lion, and the hands of a woman…"
Gerald referred to a lot of classical works in his speech and maintained an approachable demeanor on stage. Nathan's speech paled in comparison.
After the speech, Gerald bowed humbly.
As a CEO worth 100 billion dollars, Gerald instantly won everyone's admiration with his humble and courteous demeanor.
Applauding!
There was a round of deafening applause, and many students stood up to pay homage.
The principal walked to Gerald, "Mr. Higgins, since our students are so interested in you, could you please answer three questions from them?"
Rosalynn thought Gerald wouldn't agree to the principal's request, but then she heard him say, "Of course."
There was a girl who seemed very enthusiastic. The principal called her name. She stood up and asked, "Mr. Higgins, are you married?"
