Chapter 5 Chapter 5

I was walking through the crowded hallways the following morning after first period, when I bumped into someone. The impact of the collision, send my books flying to the ground. I bend down to pick them up, while I apologized to the person, although the person was the one that bumped into me. When I was done picking up my books, I stood back up. My eyes met the cold stare of the person and my eyes widen with shock. It can't be... "What are you doing here?" I asked as soon as I found my voice. Standing in front of me was Ramona Dawkins. Ramona and I were best friends while growing up along with Amber, but I found out later that she was fake and never liked me. Amber and I found out about her, when we were in the eight grade in preschool. She was talking bad about us to some other girls and we overheard. We confronted her about it and she didn't deny anything. We stopped talking to her instantly. After the ninth grade, Amber and I went to the same high school, while she went to a different high school. I haven't seen her since. Ramona placed a hand on her hip and glared at me. "If you must know, I just transfered here." Now that I'm looking at her, I noticed that she hadn't changed much. Her long black hair cascaded over her shoulders and she still stared at me with those piercing green eyes. Her body had matured more, but she was still the same Ramona. Bitchiness radiating off her in waves. "Oh." Was all I could say. I seriously did not want to run into this girl again and now she was here. Great. "Now, would you excuse me? I don't want to stand here with you any longer. I don't want any of your stupidness to rub off on me." She looked me up and down with a sneer on her face. "No, Ramona. You already have all the stupidity there is, so you don't have a problem." I gave her a fake smile. She looked at me wide eyed, before her eyes turned hard with anger. I could literally imagine the steam coming out of her ears. She was about to answer when Amber came up beside me. "What's going on here?" Amber asked folding her arms across her chest. Ramona shift her glare from me and turned it to Amber and then back to me. "Nothing, I was just chatting with an old friend." She look back at Amber and added, "Nice seeing you again, Amber." She glared at the both of us one last time, before she strut away. "What is she doing here?" Amber asked as soon as she left. "She said she just transfered here." I answered. "In the second term of school?" Amber asked incredulously. "Apparently so." I shrugged. "I don't think I can deal with her drama in my senior year." Amber groaned. "You know what? I don't really care. She can do what she wants. Just ignore her. At least that's what I'm planning on doing. Plus, we only have five more months left before we graduate." I replied. Seriously, I'm just going to stay out of her way. I have enough on my plate already than to deal with her drama. Amber shrugged her shoulders, "Okay then. I'll see you at lunch." "Okay." I said as I turned away and head to my other class. Even though today was Wednesday, I decided to get a head start on the dance routine that I planned to use in the competition. It was now fifth period and I had it free, so I headed to the other dance room that Ms. Wilson told me I could use, so I could start practicing. After changing into a grey tank top, a black baggy pants and my white sneakers, I head to the dance room. I used the key that Ms. Wilson gave me to open the door and I entered the room. This room was much smaller than the main dance room, but it was still big enough for me to practice. I walked over to the corner of the room and placed my gym bag on a bench and dug in it for an elastic band. After I found one, I caught my hair in a high ponytail. I then walked over to the radio and placed the CD that I had brought with me in the slot. Over the weekend, I had thought about the songs that I wanted to dance to and in the end, I came up with three songs. I decided to do a mix of all three of them, so I got the mix burned on the CD. The three songs that I chose are: Black Widow by Iggy Azalea, Panda by Desiigner and WTF (Where They From) by Missy Elliott. The mix was in that particular order as well. I pressed the play button on the radio and went to the center of the room to practice routines. This was my first practice so I had no routines, dance moves or techniques in mind as yet. I had to just think it up as I go along. A half hour later, I had danced to the first part of the song for the fifth time, when I heard a clapping sound behind me. I spun around in surprise to see Ethan leaning against the door, clapping. "Wow. You're pretty good." He breathe out. "Thanks, but it still needs a lot of work." I walked over to the radio and turned it down a little. "I didn't know you could dance." I could hear the surprise in his voice. "Well, there is a lot of things you don't know about me." I said, then frowned. When did he get here? I didn't even hear when the door was opened. "By the way, when did you get here? And don't you have a class?" "I have a free period now and I was walking by the room and heard music, so I decided to check it out and here I am." he indicated the room with his hands. "How long were you in here?" I asked out of curiosity. "Five minutes, I guess." he shrugged. "What is all this for, by the way?" "Well if you must know, I'm practising for a dance competition that I have entered." I walked over to the bench where my bag is and took a towel out of it to wipe my face. "A dance competition? That's pretty cool." He walked over to where I was sitting. "Yeah well, I have a month and a half to practice and I still haven't learnt all my moves as yet. It needs much more work." I stood up, "Speaking of which, I need to get back to practice, so get out." "Oh come on. Where is your hospitality?" he questioned. "You're not a guess, Ethan. I don't want you in here." I placed my hands on my hips. "I won't-" he began. "Out. Now!" I said cutting off whatever he was about to say. "Cranky are we?" He teased. "Ethan!" I said in frustration. "Okay, okay. I'm leaving." He turned from me and walked to the door. When he pulled the door open, he turned back to me and smirked, "By the way, nice ass." He winked at me and left the room, closing the door behind him. I stood there gaping at the door, before I shook my head. He must be referring to when I was dancing. "Pervert." I mumbled under my breath before I turned around and went back to practice.
