Vivian clocked something off in Owen's eyes, and it made her frown.
"What's up, can't handle the question?" she said, sounding a bit annoyed.
Owen didn't say a word like someone had sewn his lips shut.
The room went quiet, tense, and heavy. Donna, keen to get this over with, gently tried to get him talking.
"Owen, spill the beans to Vivian, and we can put this to bed," she said, her voice as calming as a bedtime story.
"Talk," Kaysen, who was on a video call, seemed to feel the same, noticing Owen's reluctance. "No matter how you found out, just say it. Vivian won't hold it against you, especially for my sake."
"Fine, I'll spill," Owen finally said, looking at Vivian, his voice ringing out in the quiet. "Some random tip-off told me if I followed a certain path, I'd find what I wanted."
"Oh, what was the tip-off? How and when did they send it?" Vivian, always the detective, fired back three questions at once.
