Chapter 4 - His Mistress

His Mistress Lusi's POV "Who is this new guy you introduced Helsi to?" "Butrico Santrima?" Joy asked with a smile "Whatever he is called, how is it possible that I have never heard of him" Lusi sips the last drop of wine remaining "Get us some please" Lusi motioned to the bartender "Get a hold of yourself Lusi, don't take too much" Joy waved the bartender not to bring any more wine "Urgh, just like my husband" Lusi groaned "Answer my question" Lusi's face changed instantly to that of s skunk that was cocked "OK" Joy laughed "You look more beautiful in that looks" "What my husband does see" Lusi rolled her eyes "What's wrong?" Joy could sense something going on as she noticed Lusi idea of bringing her husband in almost everything they talked about "How?" Lusi looked around her "You are probably drunk" Joy taps her nose "Let me take you home" "Who said I am drunk" Lusi paused for a while "Silly you, answer the question I asked" she insisted "Butrico Santrima is the CEO of his company, he lost his dad when he was a young boy. They got involved in an accident which almost cost him his life" "No!!" Lusi interrupted "Ohh yes, it was terrible, at some point he wished he died too, the pain was unbearable together with watching his dad struggle for life but all he could do was cry was more painful" Joy nodded her head "Oh my, was he that young?" Lusi asked Silence took heavily over the bar "Yes he was" "How did you meet him?" Lusi was shocked at how she has so much information about him "He is the son to my father's brother" Helsi's POV I stared at Tom's picture sitting on my table in my office with so much anger as I learn about his supposed girlfriend "She's really young. Twenty-one or so," "How did you know this?" Nancy asked "I went through his phone last night, I saw her picture… her hair is short and curly-you know, those small tight curls" "Men and their ways, this is what happens when you marry a rich man" Nancy said I paused, I could hear myself suck my breath-a deliberate, exaggerated sound "They are never faithful" I added "He is married to you, having an intimate relationship with another woman!! No respect" Nancy gave a scorching sound "Thanks baby girl, you know, after mum…..after she died, you were the only one I had, then Lusi" Helsi was trying hard not to let the tears in her eyes prevail "It has been a long time since I spoke to Lusi, we would be forever grateful to them" Nancy paused, then continued "I am your younger sister, I will always be here for you, no matter what happens. And if you need help in dealing with him intensely, I would gladly help" Nancy said with a smile "Silly girl" Helsi found it really funny "That would be murder" "I just want you to feel better, you can call me anytime or come over anytime" "OK sweetheart" A knock interrupted Helsi's discussion with her sister "Thanks darling, take good care of yourself" Helsi said fast and ended the call "Please come in" Helsi said knowing fully well that its her investigator "I had other things to attend to few minutes ago, that is the reason why I couldn't wait" He said so calmly "All that matters is that you are here now" Helsi motioned for him to sit "Please" "Thank you" Mrs. George - she went by the name Ami, named her two kids Helsi and Nancy. She got married at a tender age of 18, fresh out of college, ran away with her dream guy because her parents were not in support of her getting married to him. "Can you remember what happened?" Jadi asked "Did you talk to her the night before it happened?" he added "Yes . At nine fifteen, according to my phone log. We talked for long time before I went to sleep" Helsi replied "Did she say anything that might be useful here?, was she worried? Scared?" "Erhm" Helsi was immediately caught in a vise, she seems to be lost "I knew they were having issues" "Who?" "My parents, my dad seemed upset at my mum for some reasons I do not know about" Helsi said "What did you talk about with her that night?" he knows how to be thorough "The usual stuff, it's been a long time, I don't clearly remember anything" "Any sign of break-in?" he asked "No, nothing happened to the house nor did anything happen to me and my sister" Helsi was getting emotional. She took a deep breath, standing to take some towel to wipe the tears dancing around her eyes "We can continue another day" he said with sympathy "My Uncle never liked my father" She turned and continued "And he is my number one suspect, I see how he stares at my dad. I know his hatred for my dad went haywire when my dad was made the CEO of this company" "How did they run into debts?" he asked "It must have been some theft, someone hacked the system, my dad had to run to my Uncle for help, that's how my dad has been tied as a slave to him ever since" Helsi said "He came to see me recently, threatening to take over the company if I don't pay back in 3 months" she paused " "Ok, so much information…. This should be all for today, I would get more information on this especially around your Uncle" "OK, thank you very much" "What is his name?" "My uncle?" She asked "Yes" "Mardrigo" "Thank you," he stood to leave As if the world was coming for her, one at a time.. She got a call from her husband's personal Doctor "Your husband got involved in a terrible accident, luckily we found him before it went worse than his recent situation" He said "What?" She almost screamed, she stood "What did you say?" "You are needed at the clinic" "I would be there, what is his current situation?" She asked "He is breathing, but damaged his left hand, more details would be given to you when you come to the clinic ma'am" "OK" she said and ended the call
