Chapter 71: Bury the Hatchet
As Dylan’s words sunk in, Christina's expression became almost comical. She looked like one of those wide-eyed toys you’d find in claw machines, and the scene was quite amusing—at least for Dylan. He couldn’t help but chuckle at the shock that had registered on her face before she could mask it. A small smile played on his lips, but there was something dangerous about it. While she was at a loss for words, Dylan seemed to have found a whole new world of possibilities.
"I'm an old Uncle?" he repeated the words she had once used against him as he stepped closer. "I should wear spectacles?" Christina averted her eyes, avoiding his gaze as she took a step back, but he continued moving toward her. "Right, you’re even going to lend me your spectacles." Christina choked on air at that reminder, adjusting her glasses on the bridge of her nose before coughing into her fist. "I’m your damn punching bag?"
