Chapter 28: The Grass on His Head
"I'm so proud of you," Manager Sam said, her face beaming with a bright smile. Christina, however, had a frown etched between her brows at the odd behavior of her manager.
"For what?" Unable to contain her curiosity, Christina finally asked.
"No intern has ever requested resignation within the first week. Isn't that something..." Manager Sam trailed off as she caught sight of Christina's expression.
Even an idiot could tell from the smirk on Christina's face what was going on in her mind, which clearly was, 'Celebrating too soon, huh?'
"What's with that look?" Manager Sam straightened up as she questioned her.
"What look?" Christina feigned ignorance, her expression one of pure innocence. She looked like an innocent little lamb pretending to be nice, but Manager Sam wasn’t fooled by her act at all. That earlier smirk had said it all.
