Chapter 154 A Teenager
Christina was busy curling her ginger-red hair, which she often used as a disguise to blend in with others, when her phone's ringtone broke the silence, making her sigh in annoyance. She didn’t need to check the caller ID to know who it was.
As she answered the call, a stern voice greeted her from the other end, "Christina, where are you? I’ve been looking for you." For a fleeting moment, a spark of hope and happiness flickered in her eyes, only to be extinguished as her mother continued, "Are you being rebellious at this age? Tomorrow is the success party for your movie, and you're nowhere to be found. What am I supposed to do? Do you want me to lose face as your manager?"
Christina turned the call to speaker mode and continued curling her hair at a leisurely pace. "If only you had said you were worried about me as my mother. But that’s just my wishful thinking as always. You’ve disappointed me so many times, and yet, I’m still the fool who gets her hopes up."
