Chapter 14: Back In The Day

Christy had to almost physically pull Nora away from the store. It was a challenging task, as Nora was acting like a child who couldn’t bear to part with a beloved teddy bear. Her wide eyes were fixed longingly on the dress displayed inside. Watching her best friend throwing a tantrum over a dress at this age was somewhat disheartening for Christy. She knew Nora well enough to realize that this wasn’t something she’d easily get over. But, despite the visible disappointment, Nora showed remarkable restraint. With a determined glint in her eyes, she tore herself away from the dress and walked alongside Christy, as if she was an obedient little girl. As they boarded the elevator, Nora’s mood took a sudden turn. "Christy, I heard there's a new Mala Hotpot Restaurant on the eighth floor. How about we try it out?"
