Chapter 107: A Trip to the Police Station
It was around 7 o'clock in the evening when they left the club, and Dylan offered to drive Christina back. Not wanting to call Darren to pick her up from such a place, she accepted Dylan's offer and settled into the passenger seat.
"Sir, are you okay?" Christina asked, her voice gentle yet probing.
"Yes, I'm absolutely fine. Why do you ask?" Dylan replied with a hint of indifference. "You look really, really mad," Christina noted straightforwardly.
Dylan let out a snicker before responding, "I may look really, really mad, but in reality, I'm just really, really depressed." Christina's brows lifted in surprise as he added, "I can’t stand people who degrade others just to feel better about themselves."
"Is that why you didn’t let me pour them a drink?" she asked, her curiosity piqued.
Dylan glanced at her briefly before turning his eyes back to the road. "If I had let you pour them a drink, I wouldn’t have been able to face myself. No business deal is worth your dignity and respect.
