Chapter 8

　　THE THIRD PERSON 　　Brittany gets out of the car and removes a big basket of goodies from the backseat that has me wondering why she is carrying such a big basket of cookies, chocolates, and dry fruits with her because she is well aware of the fact I’m reducing some pounds I put on during pregnancy. 　　When she enters the house, she gives that basket to me and rushes to play with Mabel. Following a little catching up to do from both our ends, she pours herself a glass of Mojito and finally moves the topic to how her friend from college is coming to Savannah from Fremont, and she wants to spend some time with him to remember the good old days they have had. 　　I let her talk and don’t question her to give her a warm feeling so that she feels comfortable opening up to me and tells me all of it honestly. That is what happens as she continues to tell me her story; she mentions her past with this guy, William, who she had also dated while in college, but then she met a wealthier and better-s
