Chapter 29

　　ON EDGE 　　On reading Naomi’s message, George and I looked at each other troubled, and I felt my heart stopping for a fraction of a second fearing because our daughter Mabel is with her. George quickly gets off the car and asks me to hurry up too. I don’t understand why he is not calling Naomi from the car itself. She sent such a message, I am certain it is an emergency. But I do as he asked me to because right now I want him to call her no matter what it takes. 　　I get out of the car, and George rushes inside the hotel. I assume maybe he wants to sit inside and then call her; not wanting to talk to her outside the hotel. We get in the hotel lobby, and he runs to the elevator. Now I am losing my cool. What part of the message does he not understand, “Call me” or “Urgent”? What is he waiting for? 　　I rush rapidly not to waste even one second. Something inside of me is putting every negative thought inside my head that better not happen. I am getting so impatient; my heart is about to b
