Driving through the forest during the day was way better than driving through it at night.
The UTV rumbled along the dirt trail, its tires kicking up small clouds of dust as Theo navigated our way through the thick forest. The trees towered overhead, their branches mixing together to form a canopy that partially obscured the sun and the forest was quiet, the only sound being the soft hum of the engine and the occasional chirping of birds. It had a peaceful and calming effect, making me want to forget my worries, but I couldn’t stop thinking about Chelsea.
Lydia had texted me after Theo and I left the clubhouse to let me know that she’d finally gotten Chelsea’s parents’ contact and when she told them Chelsea wasn’t in school, they were shocked because she wasn’t at home either. And Alysanne from campus security still hadn’t reached out to her to let her know if Chelsea took permission to leave Blackwood or not, and that was infuriating because it felt like the school didn’
