“You don’t feel it?” I asked Blake and he shook his head sideways, still looking super confused.
“I do not.”
“Are you sure?” I wasn’t asking because I didn’t believe him, but because I was genuinely wondering why the realization that we were mates was so delayed for him. We’d both felt the spark during the picnic.
“Pretty sure,” he replied while the corner of his mouth turned up and I frowned at him because it didn’t seem like he was taking this seriously.
“This is serious, Blake. We have to talk about it.”
“I–” He heaved a sigh and glanced past me before setting his mouth in a hard line. “I’m kind of busy right now,” he said and I furrowed my brows at him, wondering if he was being for real right now. I mean, what the hell? Was he trying to avoid this? “I need to drop this off at the clubhouse–” he raised the bag in his hand “-- and head to my dorm.”
“And that’s more important?” Disbelief was evident in my voice and Blake’s forehead creased at my tone.
