CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOUR - Strained Spirits
Ella nodded, inhaling the comforting aroma of chamomile. "Much. Thank you."
They settled on the couch, the storm still raging outside their windows. For a moment, they sat in comfortable silence, sipping their tea and listening to the wind.
Finally, Ella spoke. "Lucas, what are we going to do about the party? This storm has thrown everything into chaos."
Lucas set down his mug, turning to face her. "We'll figure it out, Ella. We always do. Tomorrow, we'll assess the damage and make a new plan. Together."
Ella felt a surge of love for this man who always knew exactly what to say. She leaned in, resting her head on his shoulder. "Together," she agreed softly.
As promised, the next day dawned with clearer skies, though the town was blanketed in several feet of snow. Ella and Lucas set out early, determined to salvage what they could of their party plans.
