CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED TEN - The Final Stand Against Darkness
The estate was a sprawling Victorian mansion, its weathered stone facade a testament to its age. Turrets and spires reached towards the sky, while ivy clung to the walls, as if nature was slowly reclaiming the structure.
As they approached, it became clear that the estate had seen better days. The once-manicured gardens were now overgrown, and several windows were boarded up.
Lucas parked the car in front of the main entrance, a grand double door flanked by crumbling stone lions. As they stepped out, the enormity of the mansion loomed over them.
"It's... not quite what I expected," Ella said, her voice hushed.
Lucas nodded, taking in the dilapidated grandeur. "It's certainly seen better days. But think about it, Ella. This could be the start of something amazing."
They approached the front door, which creaked ominously as Lucas pushed it open. The foyer was dimly lit, dust motes dancing in the few rays of sunlight that managed to penetrate the grimy windows.
"Hello?" Lucas called
