Chapter Forty Three- Justice Denied
It was both an eye opening experience as much as it was a heart wrenching one.
The drive back home took place in utter silence. It wasn’t as if none of them wanted to talk but what could they say? The air was tense and charged. Neither Mia nor Lorenzo were eager enough to break it up.
It was apparent that the tense atmosphere would last inextricably long. Lorenzo drove up the long driveway and parked the car in the garage. Mia got out without another word and entered the house through the side door.
Mia was in her own world.
She felt bad for Lorenzo. Carrying around that guilt for years on end was surely not good for his mental psyche but also for his physical health. It worked him down over the years. She thought that maybe he was coming out of his shell with her. Mia didn’t realize it but it was the truth.
Everyone back at the old house noticed the difference in Lorenzo. He was certainly much less crabby than the other times. His gait had straightened and he once again
