Chapter Ten- Moving In

Mia was dead on her feet by the time her shift ended. It had been a long day and all Mia was looking forward to was settling right into bed. Her tired brain barely registered the fact that today would be a long night. She wouldn’t be able to snuggle under her covers any time soon. “Hi, Mia. You can leave now if you’d like. My shift is starting in a minute.” Mia jumped up from her slumped over position. She was on the edge of falling asleep and got terribly startled. Mia recognised the guy. He was the man who took over the store when her shift ended. She simply smiled before apologizing. “Sure. It’s really slow today. What with it being a weekday and all.” Mia barely managed to finish the sentence before a long yawn escaped her. The man merely smiled at her and waited for her to leave.
