Savannah's voice was raw and heartbroken as she said, "You were willing to trade my life for a baby that could hardly survive? Just so you and Brielle could have your happily ever after?" Years of betrayal, manipulation, and hurt bled through her voice. Wyatt tried to explain, "Back then… I let Brielle get in my head. She loved kids, but she couldn't have any of her own because of her heart condition. I thought I was doing the right thing." Savannah let out a humorless laugh. "Her heart condition? You really believe she has one?" Before Wyatt could respond, Robert wrapped Savannah in a protective embrace and said with self-blame, "I'm sorry. I should've been there when all this was happening to you." His eyes shimmered with remorse and distress as though he wanted to take away all of her pain. Savannah returned to her senses and shook her head slightly. "You got the hospital to speak out in record time. That alone means more than you know. Besides, it's just a bump on the head.
