Chapter 23

After ending the call, Wyatt rushed to the school from his office. Since the movie's shoot had wrapped, he hadn't seen Savannah for what felt like ages. Following the direction Chase had pointed, Wyatt spotted Savannah walking beside Robert. They were accompanied by a child who appeared to be about the same age as Chase. As the three chatted and laughed happily, the scene looked utterly harmonious and warm. Chase looked up with tears welling up in his eyes. He pleaded pitifully, "Daddy, you saw her, right? That's Mommy. Why is she with another man? They look like a family! Does she not want us anymore? Tell her I'm sorry and that I want her to come home, please!" Wyatt felt his throat tightening as he stared after Savannah. After a long pause, he mumbled, "Be patient and wait a little longer. There's no other man. Mommy is just angry. She'll come back. She will." It sounded as though he was trying to comfort and convince himself instead. It should've been him standing by Savannah
