56 Revelations Over Dinner

Post her enlightening interaction with Dr. Livingstone, Lily met Diana for dinner. Diana immediately noticed a change in her demeanor. "You look different today, almost radiant. What happened?" Diana inquired, her curiosity piqued. Lily couldn’t hide her enthusiasm. "I had a chance to discuss my research with Dr. Livingstone. His insights were eye-opening!" Diana quickly steered the conversation away from academic achievements, her interest lying elsewhere. "Forget about that. Why did you leave me alone yesterday? That guy Blackwood was unbearable!" Lily’s mood soured at the reminder of the party and Michael’s cold demeanor afterwards. "I didn’t realize it was a singles event. I wouldn’t have gone if I knew." Diana, confused, probed further. "Why does it matter? You could've found someone interesting there, maybe even a boyfriend." Lily sighed, her voice heavy. "Because of that party, Michael found out. His reaction was chilling." Diana's confusion turned to shock.
