CHAPTER 455: THE PUBLIC PERFORMANCE
The drive to the foster home was quiet; the only sound was the hum of the car engine and the rhythmic tapping of Brandon's fingers on the steering wheel. Nelly sat beside him, her hands clasped tightly in her lap, her eyes focused on the scenery that passed by in a blur. They were both lost in their thoughts.
As they pulled into the driveway of the modest house where Hannah was staying, Brandon turned to Nelly, his eyes filled with determination. "Today's going to be a good day. I can feel it."
Nelly gave him a small, reassuring smile. "I believe it, too. We've come so far, Brandon. We just need to keep showing them that we're ready."
